    In brief

This point is useful for relieving shoulder pain and improving mobility in this joint. It may be particularly helpful if you experience stiffness or discomfort in your shoulder.

    Where to find it

Posterior-lateral aspect of the shoulder, in the postero-inferior depression below the acromion, with arm abducted.

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

Apply moderate pressure, neither too light nor painful, with your thumb or index finger. Maintain this pressure for one to two minutes, using small circular movements or intermittent pressure. You should feel a sensation of light pressure or numbness. Repeat the self-massage two to three times a day, especially when pain occurs.

This point is very effective for stiff shoulders or chronic shoulder pain.

Effects in traditional Chinese energetics (TCM)

This point's main actions are to dispel Wind-Dampness (external pathogenic factors associated with joint pain and stiffness) and promote the flow of Qi (vital energy) in the shoulder area.
