In brief
This point, located on the hand, is a valuable ally in relieving common ailments such as headaches, cold or flu symptoms, and various aches and pains. It is particularly known for its soothing action and its help in easing a range of discomforts.
Where to find it
On the back of the hand, between the 1st and 2nd metacarpals, in the middle of the 2nd metacarpal on its radial border. Press the thumb against the index finger: the point is at the summit of the fleshy mound
How to stimulate it (acupressure)
To stimulate this point, bring your thumb against your index finger to form a small muscular prominence on the back of your hand, between the first and second metacarpal bones (those of the thumb and index finger). The point is at the highest part of this prominence. Apply firm but not painful pressure with the thumb or index finger of your other hand. You should feel a sensation of numbness or slight heaviness. Maintain this pressure for 1 to 2 minutes, using small circular movements or direct pressure. Repeat this self-massage 2 to 3 times a day, or whenever needed.
