Xiaoluo — Elbow Ditch
In brief
Point TR12 is useful for easing pain and stiffness in the shoulder and upper arm, as well as tension in the back of the neck and certain headaches. It helps restore a sense of comfort in these areas.
Where to find it
Posterior aspect of the upper arm, below TR14, between the two heads of the triceps muscle.
How to stimulate it (acupressure)
To stimulate this point, locate it on the posterior aspect of your upper arm, approximately one and a half hand widths below the shoulder, between the two main muscles of the upper arm. Apply firm pressure with your thumb or a finger, massaging in small circular movements. The pressure should be enough to produce a slight sensation of numbness or warmth, but never sharp pain. Maintain the pressure for 1 to 2 minutes. You can repeat this stimulation 2 to 3 times a day.
