Qiangu — Anterior Valley
In brief
This point is useful for easing numbness in the fingers, headaches, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and throat pain. It helps restore a greater sense of comfort in these situations.
Where to find it
Closed fist, distal to the metacarpophalangeal joint of the 5th finger, at the junction of the palm and back skin
How to stimulate it (acupressure)
To stimulate this point, slightly bend your little finger. The point is located just below the metacarpophalangeal joint of the little finger, on the side, at the junction between the lighter skin of the palm and the darker skin on the back of the hand. Apply moderate pressure with your thumb or another finger, keeping it firm but comfortable. You should feel gentle pressure, but never sharp pain. Massage using circular movements or alternating pressure and release for 1 to 2 minutes. You can repeat this stimulation 2 to 3 times a day, or whenever you feel the need.

This point clears heat (reduces sensations of excessive heat or inflammation) and promotes the flow of Qi (vital energy) through the meridian (the energy channel associated with the Small Intestine). It is a Ying-Spring point (a point where energy accumulates) and a Water point (associated with the Water element).
