Naoshu — Upper Arm Locus
In brief
Point IG10 is often used to ease tension and pain around the shoulder, particularly when there is stiffness or difficulty moving the arm. It is a key point for improving everyday comfort in this joint.
Where to find it
Hollow below the shoulder blade ridge, arm abducted.
Indications
How to stimulate it (acupressure)
To stimulate this point, start by finding the depression just below the spine of your scapula, with your arm slightly away from your body. Once located, apply firm but comfortable pressure with your thumb or index finger. Maintain this pressure for 1 to 2 minutes, using small circular movements or pressing intermittently. You may feel mild numbness or local pressure; never massage to the point of sharp pain. You can repeat this self-massage 2 to 3 times a day, especially when you feel tension.
Other uses
Acupuncture
