    Zhongchong — Central Rushing

    In brief

Point MC9, called Zhongchong, is an acupressure point located at the tip of the middle finger. It is traditionally used to help restore alertness in cases of faintness, heatstroke or agitation, and to soothe certain discomforts associated with internal heat.

    Where to find it

Center of the tip of the middle finger

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate this point, apply firm pressure with the thumb of your other hand directly to the center of the tip of your middle finger. You should feel a sensation of gentle pressure, sometimes slightly more intense. Maintain this pressure for about 1 to 2 minutes. You can repeat this self-massage 2 to 3 times a day, or more frequently for an acute need. If you feel sharp pain, reduce the pressure.
