    In brief

This point on the wrist is often used to soothe the heart and calm the mind, which may help with restlessness, nervousness, or difficulty falling asleep. It is also known for easing tension in the wrist.

    Where to find it

Midway between the wrist creases, between the tendons

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate this point, locate the midpoint of your wrist crease, between the two main tendons. Apply gentle to moderate pressure with your thumb or index finger. Use small circular movements or steady, direct pressure. Massage for one to two minutes on each side. You should feel a mild sensation of pressure, or even slight numbness, but never sharp pain. Repeat this massage two to three times a day, or whenever you feel the need for calm.

    Depth : 0.3-0.5 cun

The acupuncturist will insert a needle 0.3 to 0.5 cun deep, usually perpendicularly. This procedure is the exclusive competence of a qualified practitioner.

This point is both a Shu-Stream and a Yuan-Source point, giving it a strong capacity to influence Pericardium energy, as well as an Earth point with a harmonizing role.

Effects in traditional Chinese energetics (TCM)

Calms the mind (Shen), regulates Heart Qi (vital energy), and clears heat (a manifestation of inflammation or internal agitation). It is a Shu-Stream point (addressing mild imbalances), an Earth point (with a harmonizing and stabilizing role), and a Yuan-Source point (which acts on the organ's fundamental energy).
