Kouheliao — Granary of Grain and Fluid

    In brief

This acupressure point is useful for relieving nasal discomfort, such as a stuffy nose, and can also be used to support facial well-being. It is often stimulated to help clear the nasal passages.

    Where to find it

Directly below the lateral border of the nostril, at the level of GI20.

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate this point, place your finger just below the lateral border of the nasal ala, at the same level as the nasolabial fold. Apply gentle to moderate pressure, without ever causing pain. You should feel a slight sensation of pressure or numbness. Massage with small circular movements or hold steady pressure for 1 to 2 minutes. You can repeat this stimulation 2 to 3 times a day.
