    Fuliu — Gathering of Metal

    In brief

This point may help relieve various discomforts such as swelling (edema), excessive sweating, night sweats, and certain types of lower back pain. It is particularly useful for regulating sweating and supporting a healthy fluid balance in the body.

    Where to find it

Inner side of the leg, above the inner ankle bone, in front of the Achilles tendon.

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate this point, locate it on the medial side of your lower leg, about two thumb-widths above the medial malleolus (the inner ankle bone), just anterior to the Achilles tendon. Apply moderate pressure with your thumb or index finger. You should feel a mild sensation of pressure, sometimes slight numbness, but never sharp pain. Maintain pressure for one to two minutes, using small circular movements or firm, steady presses. Repeat this massage two to three times a day.

This point is an important Kidney tonic and is very effective for regulating sweating and dampness.

Effects in traditional Chinese energetics (TCM)

This Jing point (River point, often associated with the circulating energy of the meridian) and Metal point (one of the five fundamental energies) tonifies the Kidney (one of the essential organs), resolves dampness (excess fluids), and regulates sweating (an elimination function).
