    Yaoshu — Lumbar Pivots

    In brief

This point is useful for easing lower back pain and may help improve certain menstrual discomforts. It is used to soothe discomfort in the lumbar and pelvic regions.

    Where to find it

Hollow above the tailbone (between S5 and coccyx)

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

Apply gentle to moderate pressure with the tip of your thumb or index finger. Hold the pressure for 1 to 2 minutes, making small circular movements or pressing and releasing. You should feel a mild sensation of pressure or warmth, but never sharp pain. Repeat this self-massage 1 to 2 times a day, or as needed.
