    In brief

Point VB31 is useful for soothing various discomforts such as itching, skin irritation (such as hives), or thigh pain. It is valued for its effects on these symptoms, which are sometimes associated with internal imbalances.

    Where to find it

Outer thigh, above the popliteal crease (tip of middle finger when arm is along the body)

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

Apply moderate pressure, massaging the point with your thumb or fingertips in circular movements. A mild sensation of pressure is normal, but never press to the point of sharp pain. Massage each point for 1 to 2 minutes. You can repeat this stimulation 2 to 3 times a day, or whenever needed.

Effects in traditional Chinese energetics (TCM)

This point acts by dispersing Wind (eliminating external pathogenic factors and relieving symptoms such as itching and spasms) and promoting the flow of Qi (vital energy) through the meridian (energy channel).
