Midway between the front hip point and the greater trochanter.

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

    For practitioners

    Other uses

    Acupuncture

    Depth : 0.5-1 cun

The acupuncturist may insert a fine needle to a depth of 0.5 to 1 cun (approximately 1 to 2.5 cm) perpendicular to the skin. This procedure must be performed by a qualified practitioner.

    Moxibustion

Moxibustion, which involves heating the point using a heat source (typically burning mugwort), can be applied by the practitioner for 10 to 30 minutes. This technique enhances the action of the point and provides therapeutic heat.

This point is very effective for dispersing Wind-Dampness and specifically easing hip pain and sciatica. It regulates the flow of energy and benefits joint structures.

Effects in traditional Chinese energetics (TCM)

This point helps regulate Qi (vital energy) and benefits the tendons (structures that connect muscles to bones) and joints (connections between bones, such as the hip).
