Touqiaoyin — Yin Passage of the Head

    In brief

The Touqiaoyin (VB11) point is located behind the ear and may be helpful in relieving certain headaches, sensations of dizziness, ear pain, and tinnitus.

    Where to find it

Back of the ear, between VB10 and VB12, at the level of the horizontal line passing through the top edge of the mastoid process

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate this point, place your thumb or index finger behind the ear, between the back of the skull and the prominent bone behind the ear (the mastoid process), at the level of the upper border of this bone. Apply gentle to moderate pressure for 1 to 2 minutes. The expected sensation is slight numbness or diffuse warmth, never sharp pain. You can repeat this stimulation 2 to 3 times a day.
