    Jinggu — Capital Bone

    In brief

Point V64, also known as "Capital Bone", may be helpful for relieving headaches at the back of the skull, neck stiffness, and lower back pain. Stimulating it helps relax these tense areas.

    Where to find it

Lateral side of the foot, anterior-inferior depression of the tuberosity of the 5th metatarsal bone

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate point V64, apply moderate pressure with your thumb or another finger. Press the point using small circular movements or direct pressure for 1 to 2 minutes. You should feel mild pressure or numbness, never sharp pain. You can repeat this stimulation 2 to 3 times a day, particularly when symptoms occur.

    For practitioners

    Other uses

    Acupuncture

    Depth : 0.3-0.5 cun

The practitioner can insert a fine needle 0.3 to 0.5 cun deep, generally in a perpendicular manner. This procedure must be performed by a qualified professional to ensure the safety and efficacy of the treatment.

    Moxibustion

Moxibustion, which involves applying heat to the point using an herb (mugwort), may be used. This technique is reserved for practitioners and must be applied with caution to prevent burns.

Effects in traditional Chinese energetics (TCM)

This "Yuan-Source" point (the source point of energy) clears heat (reduces sensations of heat or inflammation), relaxes the tendons (releases muscle tension), and benefits the head (relieves problems affecting the head).
