Lougu — Gate of the Leg
In brief
This point may be helpful for easing sensations of abdominal bloating, digestive rumbling, and heaviness in the legs. It is also often used for sensations of cold or numbness around the knee.
Where to find it
above Rt6, or above the tip of the inner ankle bone, near the back border of the tibia.
How to stimulate it (acupressure)
To stimulate this point, press gently but firmly with your thumb or a finger near the posterior border of your tibia, about six finger-widths above the medial malleolus. You should feel slight pressure or diffuse numbness. Massage using circular movements or repeated pressing and releasing for one to two minutes. Repeat two to three times a day, or as needed.
Effects in traditional Chinese energetics (TCM)
This point helps support the transformation and transportation of Blood (fluids and nourishing energy) and Body Fluids (bodily substances) by the Spleen (an organ involved in digestion).
