    Zhubin — Guest House

    In brief

This point is traditionally used to ease worries and support overall well-being. It is used to help calm agitation and promote a sense of well-being.

    Where to find it

above Rn3, on the inner side of the calf muscle.

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

Apply gentle to moderate pressure with your thumb or fingertips. Massage using circular movements or sustained pressure for one to two minutes. The sensation should be comfortable; slight pressure or numbness is normal, but there should never be sharp pain. This self-massage is recommended two to three times a day.

    Other uses

    Acupuncture

    Depth : 0.5-1 cun

The practitioner may insert a thin needle 0.5 to 1 cun (approximately 1.5 to 3 cm) deep, perpendicularly to the skin. This procedure is reserved for qualified and experienced acupuncture practitioners.

    Moxibustion

The practitioner may apply moxibustion (heat from burning mugwort) to this point. This technique, which generally lasts 5 to 10 minutes, must be performed by a trained practitioner to avoid any risk of burns.

This point is traditionally known for calming the Spirit and strengthening the anchoring of Kidney Qi.

Effects in traditional Chinese energetics (TCM)

This point is used to nourish Yin (the body's fundamental energy and substance), resolve Dampness (an accumulation of pathogenic fluids), and serves as a Kidney Xi-Cleft point (a gathering point for Kidney energy, often used for acute or chronic imbalances of this organ).
