Xuanli — Suspended from the Hundred Meetings

    In brief

This point on the side of the head is useful for relieving severe headaches, particularly migraines, as well as soothing pain around the eyes and easing ringing in the ears. It is a valuable ally in restoring some comfort to the temple and head region.

    Where to find it

Temporal region, at three-quarters of the distance between ST8 and VB7.

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate this point, apply light to moderate pressure with the tip of your index or middle finger. Use small circular movements or steady, sustained pressure. Continue this stimulation for one to two minutes on each side. You should feel pressure or slight localized numbness; never press hard enough to cause sharp pain. You can repeat this self-massage two to three times a day, or as soon as symptoms appear.
