    Shixuan — Ten Dispersions

    In brief

These points at the tips of the fingers are traditionally used to help provide rapid relief in cases of faintness, heatstroke, high fever, or convulsions. They are considered emergency points.

    Where to find it

At the tips of the 10 fingers

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate these points, apply firm pressure with your thumb and index finger to the tip of each finger, just behind the nail. Hold the pressure for approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute per finger. Repeat on all ten fingers if necessary. The sensation should be distinct pressure, without sharp pain. Acupressure does not replace emergency medical care.

    Other uses

    Superficial bloodletting

This technique, which consists of inducing a small superficial bloodletting on the fingertips, is specifically reserved for experienced practitioners in cases of serious emergencies such as loss of consciousness, severe heatstroke, or convulsions. It requires in-depth knowledge of hygiene and associated risks.
