Jiachengjiang — Near the Fluid Reservoir

    In brief

This point is useful for easing various types of facial discomfort, particularly tension or pain affecting the mouth or cheeks. It may offer welcome comfort when facial discomfort arises.

    Where to find it

outward from the center of the mentolabial groove, on the foramen of the lower jawbone. RN-24 is at the center of the mentolabial groove.

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate this point, locate it on each side of the chin, approximately one centimetre lateral to the centre of your lower lip, at the small depression or foramen. Apply gentle to moderate pressure with the tip of your index finger or thumb. Use circular movements or steady pressure for one to two minutes. The sensation should be mild pressure or localised numbness, never sharp pain. You can repeat this self-massage two to three times a day, or whenever you feel the need.
