Erjian — Tip of the ear
In brief
This point is very useful for relieving discomfort associated with red eyes, conjunctivitis, or styes. It may also provide soothing relief for an irritated throat or a sensation of heat.
Where to find it
At the apex of the ear, on the helix. Fold the ear forward: erjian is at the apex of the fold thus formed.
How to stimulate it (acupressure)
To stimulate this point, gently press the tip of the ear. You can gently pinch the apex of the auricle between your thumb and index finger. Apply moderate pressure, enough to feel a mild sensation without ever causing sharp pain. Hold the pressure for 1 to 2 minutes. Repeat this 2 to 3 times a day, or whenever needed.
