Xuanji — Xuan Court
In brief
This point is useful for relieving chest discomfort, particularly with coughing, asthma, or an irritated throat. It may help ease breathing and soothe unpleasant sensations in this area.
Where to find it
On sternum manubrium, below RM22
Indications
How to stimulate it (acupressure)
To stimulate this point, apply gentle to moderate pressure with a fingertip on the sternum, just below the small depression at the top of the chest (about one inch below the base of the neck). Massage using small circular movements or steady pressure for 1 to 2 minutes. You should feel a mild sensation of pressure or warmth, never sharp pain.
