Jiuwei — End of the Tail
In brief
This point is known for its calming effect. It is often used to ease intense stress, anxiety-related palpitations, and certain digestive disturbances such as vomiting or hiccups.
Where to find it
above belly button, below tip of the breastbone
How to stimulate it (acupressure)
To stimulate this point, located about seven finger-widths above the navel and just below the xiphoid process (the small bony projection at the lower end of the sternum), apply gentle to moderate pressure with one finger. You should feel a slight sensation of pressure, without sharp pain. Hold this pressure for one to two minutes while breathing calmly. You can repeat this self-massage two to three times a day, or whenever you feel the need. It is important to always listen to your body and never force the pressure.
