Yaotongxue — Lower Back Pain Point

    In brief

These points are known for quickly soothing lower back pain and lumbago. They are particularly useful for sudden stiffness or acute pain in the lower back.

    Where to find it

Back of the hand, 2 points between 2nd-3rd and 4th-5th metacarpals

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

Apply moderate to firm pressure with the thumb of the opposite hand to each of the two points, aiming for a slight sensation of numbness or heaviness without ever causing sharp pain. Massage in circular motions or apply firm pressure for 1 to 2 minutes per point on both hands. You can repeat this stimulation 2 to 3 times a day, or whenever pain occurs.
