Neixiyan — Medial Eye of the Knee

    In brief

This point is useful for relieving pain and stiffness in the knee. It is particularly helpful for joint discomfort, such as a sensation of fluid buildup or wear and tear.

    Where to find it

Medial depression below the kneecap, medial to the patellar ligament

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

To stimulate this point, apply gentle to moderate pressure with your thumb or index finger to the small depression just below the patella, on the medial side of the knee. Use circular movements or steady pressure for one to two minutes. The sensation should be comfortable, possibly with slight heaviness or local numbness, but never sharp pain. You can repeat this stimulation two to three times a day, or whenever needed.
