    Bitong — Unobstructed Nasal Passage

    In brief

The Unobstructed Nasal Passage point, also called Bitong, is a key area for relieving nasal discomfort, such as a blocked nose or difficulty detecting odors. Massaging it may help ease breathing and improve overall nasal comfort.

    Where to find it

At the upper end of the nose-to-mouth fold, at the junction of the maxilla and the nasal cavity (also called Shangyingxiang).

    How to stimulate it (acupressure)

Apply gentle to moderate pressure with the tip of your index finger or thumb. You should feel a mild sensation of pressure or warmth, but never sharp pain. Massage using circular movements or gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Repeat 2 to 3 times a day, especially when symptoms occur. If symptoms persist or worsen, consulting a healthcare professional is recommended.
